What have you heard thru the grapvine, good or bad about them..............

Quart:

well known, long established, good build quality, know their component and coaxials the most, can get quite a varying degree of opinion on their sound: either excellent or thin midbass and a bright tweeter

AVI:

not quite as well known globally but is generally well respected for good build quality and excellent sound, most familiar with their speakers and not amps, local to Vancouver, been around but in the background so to speak for over 10 years

Macrom:

I don't know a whole lot about these but remember them from like 15 years ago and seemed like a decent, small-market brand of speakers. For those that know of them they are well respected for good quality and excellent sound. Their new products seem impressive.

Boston Acoustics:

been around a long time too, most familiar wtih the Pro speakers of which are, or at least were, well respected for good quality and nice sound. Don't know a whole lot about the new Z series stuff except it's big money. The Rally stuff seems to be an okay mid-level brand.

Oh, and if you were to buy a new set of speakers or components today, what would they be.......................
