buying a new deck

I have decided that my CDA-7995 is getting rather old and I going to buy a new one in the next two days at the latest , I just wanted to know what you guys thought of these decks . they are nothing highend I have it down to two decks I think in my price range LOL.
either the kenwood or pioneer
Kenwood X591

Pioneer

I'm tossing back and forth , but leaning towards the pioneer only because I have a friend that has a model below it , and I liked it.
also he say extra xm stuff that will work with this.

give me your thoughts , or an idea what you may feel would be a better deck
around the same price range.
thanks
I went to BB & FT to look at decks and really I disliked almost all of them they had , the sales guys at futureshop were even worse.

The 690UB is a pretty darn nice little cd player. 2 year warranty from a authorized CDN retailer, IPOD and USB ready, full preouts, sat radio ready. It is a good buy.

that 7995 is still a very capable deck, IMO you are downgrading.

The 7995 is an excellent unit. I just got rid of two of them and I am sad to see them go. I am going to wait on the Alpine 9887 as my next unit.

My whole problem with the Alpine , it seems there is no Mids coming out of it.
using all the same amps and speakers I swapped out head units , leaving all my amp settings alone and I had all my mids , and the bass was out standing. I am considering just taking this deck to the repair guy and seeing if there is something wrong with it , I'm sure it would like a cleaning too . (I assume they do this during a service .
it just has me stomped , I never really noticed it before and it was pointed out to me , I am the second owner of the deck and the first guy one of my friends told me recently that he felt there was something wrong with it , but international stereo didn't want to touch it for what ever reason I don't know the whole story and I'm finding all this out years later.
the bad thing there is only one alpine guy in Calgary .
I don't know of any other repair places.
any Calgary guys know of any places ?

Well I installed it in the "new" car yesterday (the 7995) I didn't bother taking it to get repaired yet . i reset the deck to factory seems to sound better I guess the guy I bought it from set it up wrong and I didn't catch a setting .
so if the deck keeps on sounds good I will keep on using it.
Everthing sounds great in the car now , the front speakers are lacking but I didn't expect much from stock speakers up front . I tell you my subs hit harder in the trunk of a car then the did in a jeep or pickup ext cab :O
thanks guys , so I guess no new deck for me..
