Exclamation

I've recently invested a good portion of $$$ into my Jeep and would like to protect that investment with a decent car alarm asap (I don't think my factory alarm is up to par). I was looking into a 2-way alarm system, but I'm a newbie when it comes to car alarms so I have no idea what is good. I don't want a remote starter/alarm combo, just the alarm. I live in Toronto - any recommendations/advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

just my 2 cents.

go to A&B sound if they still got the deal on the alarm i think it was farlly good priced. i know the alarm/starter 2 way remote and an extra remote was 333.00 with out install. so it should be a good price for just the alarm.

call jeff at 905-780-9656(audio heaven), its in richmond hill but he has great deals on 2 way pager alarm/starter combos. He has a 2 way i think its $300 installed. It's not a compustar but its good.He also has compustar alarms from $500 installed and that includes remote starter. The way i see it is, if you spend over a grand on your car why not spend $500 and get top notch security

Why not check out the sale of Viper 790XV by one of the members here on this board. Although this is a starter/security combo, you don't necessarily have to hook up the auto start.

I picked one of these from him for $200.00. Good transaction, no troubles.

^^^Yeah you'd be a full not to nice little all in one package...Even if I didn't want the auto start I'd take it just for the alarm auto start isn't that big of a deal least Southwestern Ontario wise...

Thumbs down

Well, as it turns out, you can't replace (or at least, shouldnt) the factory alarm out of my Jeep! Apparently the factory alarm in the Jeep Cherokees is extremely good..I dunno looks like I'm saving some bucks - oh well.

if a guy from a dealer ship told ya that it's a bunch of bull sh*t. nothing factory is ever good. i found that out the hard way. stuiped dealer ships try and sell you more of thier useless crap.

i wouldn't trust a fastory alarm with my life. those things can't protect your car worth crap.

that my rant take it or leave it.
