Changing cd player

I just got a 98 Sunfire with the basic radio/no cd player. If I want to buy a new radio, can it easily be changed; at a store like Futureshop for an example.

i now see why no one answers these questions.

To answer your question, yes it can be swapped out just like every other radio or deck produced since the dawn of car audio. can it be replaced at future shop? obviously, you were looking at the paper. what does it say? install included. well then i'd have to say the install would be included. although i would recommend learning how to do it yourself. so when it screws up and it will, you can just take it out and diagnose problems on the fly. and please dear god your next question better not be, How many watts would be good to run in my trunk?

slow down guys, its his first post....not everyone was a car audio god when they joined this forum....

anyway to answer your question yes it would be an easy install at any car auio shop but it will probably cost you around $100 once its done... (thats if the install wasent included)

if your interested in getting into car audio then it would be a good idea to learn how to install the deck yourself

you will need an adaptor kit so your new deck fits in the dash cleanly and a wireing harness to hook it up.

nice car btw im driving a 98 sunfire GT

ya true that .ben i guess i agree everyone does have to start somewhere. look it up on google and investigate and learn from others mistakes and victories on this. there should be ample supply of info on this subject with pics if you look hard enough im sure. but i would say to install yourself, taht way you know how it was put in and that no corners were cut. i install everything myself just because then i know its right.
