Cheapo subs in Lambo's??????
They almost always use crap subs,(w0's,or kicker comp vr's) but only twice have I seen them put some serious (well ok not SERIOUS but serious compared to there regular installs), one was a Hummer with 2 12" alpine Type X's, and the other was a JBL GTO 3000watt 12"x 2 ...(don't exactley remember the vehicle). But other then that..it has yet to impress me other then the fact that they use really nice wires :P..lol
Maybe they did not need 500watts rms+ power handling. Most "high end" subs don't necessarily sound better, but they can get louder cleanly and handle a lot more power. My personal experience has demonstrated this a number of times. If super loud and clean are needed, then you need a higher power handling sub, if not, then the lower powered ones may be right for you. I'm sure Canton, Nakamichi, Quart, Morel, etc... sound great even though they may not be monsters. It all depends on what you want and what's right for the application.

well i have worked on 1 lambo in my days as an installer and any one that has even seen behind the seats knows that there is little to no room. also looking at the box it is very small. and the new w1 subs are not a very deep sub. yea the 500/1 is to big for the sub. i would have used a 250/1. and as some one said that JL is a sponser for the show. so you have to keep in mind that yes there selling a lowend sub and a desent amp in a supercar but they are also selling the JL audio name to tons of people that watch the show.
it is like when "pimp my pinto" used the MTX Jackhammer. for the car it was in and the way the kid was gonna use it it was pointless to have that sub. but MTX was selling millions of the lowend mid level subs after that show just cus it was on that TV show.
but yes i would have tryed to put a 8w7 and the 500/1 and maybe the pass seat would have to be closer to the dash but for a person like me i would think that would be worth it. or fibreglassing the console thats and idea too.

These people pay for (in this order)
1) Service - their cars are picked up, and returned to them. All they have to do is give keys.
2) Speed - Their cars are done in very short timelines. 2-3 days is a long project for them.
3) The "Unique" name - marketing is lovely.
etc.
.
i can do a simple fibreglass console wrapped in carpet or vinal in 2 10 hour days i have done it more then once too. but yes i understand what you are saying... now if the console was gonna be painted to match that would take a few days of sanding and sanding and a lil sanding
