COMPLETE NEWBIE: Need Help!

Hi.

Okay, i'm seventeen, and am in the process of getting my first car.

A 5-speed 2003 pontiac sunfire le sport.

Now, i'm looking to rig up some sort of mobile entertainment system as a step into car audio. This is all that permits with my current funds.

I'd like to know if my crazy plan here will work. I'm quite keen on eBay as a source for cheap[er] products when it comes to anything, but I have found all of my equipment off eBay as well.

So i'd like you experts to look this over and tell me if it has a high hope in hell to work.

First of all, i need a power source, so i will be using a 3 way 12 volt car cigarette power adapter splitter

eBay/non-Ebay

And because the sunfire doesn't come with auxiliary-in, i'll be buying an auxiliary audio adapter because I will probably never use the car's radio ( radio is ick and mainstream ) or CD player.

The PIE GM12-AUXv2 seems to be the only choice when it comes to this... its compatability with the '03 sunfire i'm buying i'm not sure of, but this is all hypothetical.

eBay
non-eBay

I might need a dual female rca to 3.5mm cord, but those aren't hard to find at all.

to this will be wired an external HDD/media player, NOT a PMP. External HDD/media players are more practical for my cause, and also easier on the pocket.

eBay ( 160 gigs )
non-eBay ( 80 gigs )

If I go with the latter, I will need a 12 volt dc to 5 volt ac power adapter which, again, is not thafficult to find.

And because i'll need some sort of GUI/navigation for this, i'll need an in-car moniter.

eBay
non-eBay

If I get the latter, I might use one video input with a pseudo-backup camera... that is, a camera mounted facing backwards on the dash or ceiling.

All of these being powered by the cigarette adapter.

Thoughts?

Could this work?
