complete newbie question.....
ok, im really new to this car audio stuff.... im trying to understand all the factors and stuff... one thing i dont get is..... how are some 14.4 volts and some 12.5? arent all cars 12.5? huh? or is this just the dumbest question ever? also, when somoene says like they need there amp 1,2,4,8 ohm stable, what does that mean, i understand that subs have certain ohm rating and stuff, but why? is there a place i can read up on this, i would like to get some new subs and amp and start to build up a respectable system, but the amps and subs dont make any sence to me
Ohms is a measured resistance value in any given circuit, without it you would have a dead short. Think of it as a doorway with 1 being the biggest and 8 being the smallest. The bigger the door the more current can flow, more current = more power. But remember that 0 is a dead short which is only useful if your welding.
This is a sketchy tutorial, maybe someone else can shed some light on the subject.
