Component Speakers

I am looking at getting a decent pair of component speaker for my grand cherokee, 5 1/4s, and i was wondering if anyone here would recommend a decent pair. Never really looked at components before, so any info would be great.

JBL 660GTi's are decent, and so are the current versions of Boston Acoustics Pro's, and of course Hybrid Audio Clarus set.

Depends on budget first, then on what you like or think you like.

I just ordered a set of Image Dynamics CTX65cs from woofersetc.com. Cost was about 210 americian shipped via USPS, so it should be around 300 after GST and duties. Too bad I haven't had a chance to listen to them, but they have pretty solid reviews from what I have read. Just my 0.02.

Duties and Brokerage Fees

Don't forget the duties and brokerage fees. It's not just about GSt and PST. I've been told that if a product is manufactured in the USA it can be exempt from the duties and other fees but you would have to check that with the shipping co. I have also heard that there is less likelyhood of getting "dingged" for them if it is shipped VIA USPS. In most instances it's best to try and find a distributor here. I know that Custone in the East end is a distributor for ID. Check out this site. It has a duty calculator. I really like this thing when I am buying off ebay although it's not just for that.

With GST it works out to about 280-285, so I figure 15-20 bucks with USPS. I'm just ball parking, but I would be suprised if it is over an extra 50 bones.

Eclipse has a amazing set of 5.25" speakers at that price range. Not sure if they are going to fit though as they have a cast basket on them. Lots of options to choose from, hit me up by pm or msn when you have time and we can discuss options and zero in on some of the better choices for you.
