u told him to use caukin? cmon man, what is that? use resin next time, resin the whole box, not just the corners.

there's 2000rms going into it. its not a 5000rms fart box made to do 60hz, nothing more, nothing less, where an air leak the size of a needle will ruin your score. if it was THAT important, and funds were unlimited, wouldnt we all go balls to the wall? its suffice for the application.

so why the caulkin in the box then? wood glue and screwes should not leave any air leaks open once the glue has settled. right?

why does it have to be a fart box to get resin put in it? you know much about fart boxes? educate us.

i seen a 1000 rms box tuned to 36hz with resin in it. Did someone make a mistake by putting it in there? They should have used caulkin?

at which point, power and frequency wise, do you use resin vs. caulkin? since that seems to be the criteria.

i know jack about them, but every one i've seen is resined, thats why i made that comment above. i can tell you one thing though, i can make $50 subs sound like the pair of DD's your trying to sell. if this is gonna turn into a bash fest on peoples enclosure abilities i'm not gonna argue. whats done is done.

First of all, its not a pair, I have 3 brand new DD subs, anyone that's interested pls pm me. :)

Secondly, how are you gonna make one sub sound like another sub? Please be very specific.

I wasnt bashing anything, just saying, should have double baffled and used resin instead of ghetto caulkin. Cuz really, there is no point of having it there. He wasted $10 on the tube of caulkin.

nice set up either way.

You know what I see?

I see a guy with an SUV who wanted to build something for himself....if he likes the overall look and effect of a bigass ported box with 6 subs....go ahead and build it.......:smilie_da

If he does it right he will get some serious thud out of that setup.....if he doesn't it was a learning experience that will benefit him the next time he tries.

Could the same SPL (or SQ or whatever combination of the two he was trying to achieve) have been achieved with 2 12s in a smaller box?.....Of course.....which I'm sure he would have done if that's what he wanted to do.

Everyone wants to have a system that makes them happy....he's obviously pleased with the way it turned out or we wouldn't have seen or heard about it.....:smokin:

To the OP....been awhile since I saw something like this in person.....if you and 420guy meet I'd appreciate an invite as well.....:smilie_da

Have fun with the new toys.....:D

Every time I see those subs, I can only think of Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart, since those are the major retailers selling them (and allow their customers to do what they want to them in-store).

I'd be really interested to hear it though. Crazy, that's for sure.

Which, oddly enough, means you can't get them anywhere else for less money......:dunno:

Set-ups like this always remind me of the old saying "there's no replacement for displacement"......:D Heard that one from Dukk one day long ago on another board, it's still true.... I'd still like to hear it in person.....:smilie_da
