thats just yuli being yuli, the box is fine for your first time around. If your looking at getting louder there are quite a few things you could do to make your box louder.

As yuli said double baffle, make the inside smoother, make all your bracing as small as you can and rounded. (threaded rod works or wooden dowels). Just do a bit more reading but its really not a bad first box.

Thank you dietz, thats all im looking for...

Caulking vs resin. Im not going to argue that too much i think you are right in alot of ways ive seen alot of "big names" (no im not mentioning them u know wtf i mean) use caulking because its better then nothing and cheaper then resin..however if your not worrying about 10th's of dbs the extra bit gained from the caulking shouldn't matter. good call.

However the double baffle....yet again this man obviously isnt worried about gaining every bit he can. The baffle will not break and even the amount of flex might not even do much in this case if he were 2 double up on the baffles.

I know your just havin fun but comeon at least nit pick the important things like the lack of duct tape around his subs ;)

did you ever end up selling the rex?

hahahahahahaahahhahaha you are the best. i dont know why some guys get bent out of shape :dunno:

still got the rex, its waiting for you guys to come and get it.

You mean no harm, so why get all pissed? You also normally do offer advice and its always proved to be good from what ive seen.

I wish you had sold it already. Now i have to try and convince myself not to buy it. I need a new vehicle come summer either a daily driver so i can destory my van or truck\van to destroy...hummm a rex...humm...

So is the big deal about resin to 'seal' up the MDF so air isn't leaking through the wood? Resin sticks to wood just fine, but I've seen resin flake off. Never seen that happen with caulking. Never seen it peel off on it's own either using it as a seam sealer. I imagine somebody somewhere found a fraction of a DB improvement by using resin (although if a sensor can read fractions of DB's how much variance is there in the exact same system doing back to back runs? Has to be some) but for the purposes of the box you built Equnoxe, the caulking is great.

thx sux lol, so WHY does sony suck? ^_^there has to be a reason you all think Sony subs are garbage.

danyman 01-11-2009 09:14 AM

Equnoxe 01-11-2009 09:18 AM
