corner/slot loading?

Question

Alright, so I read a PASMAG where the guy figured out that the best place to put his sub was in the corner of his trunk facing forwards, plus a guy I deem to be pretty knowledgeable as far as car audio goes says that if I want forwards facing subs I should look into corner or slot loading.
so what exactly does this entail? corner loading sounds like I just put the sub in a regular fiberglass box in the corner of my trunk, but slot loading sounds more complicated. any difference? will I still lose SPL by going from, say, a rear-facing regular box to going to a corner/slot loaded box?

alright. if I was to run two subs, could I put one sub in each corner, or is this a setup that is only really suited for one driver and too complicated for two?

In years past I have done exactly that with two separate boxes and had very good results.
