Which deck to get? Alpine CDA-7893 or CDA-7894?
Ah, I see. From what I remembered out of all 78** type model decks, they all had 2V full range and 4V Sub out. I'll have to say that the 7894 would be an exception in this case. A side by side comparison would be the only other determining factor as to whether this is true.
I know this mainly because from when I was looking for a deck at first, I picked the 7977 because it was the ONLY one in 2001 that had 4V all the way through and no deck power.

I think the majority or possibly all 79** series had 4V all the way through. I was meaning the 78** series that had 2V F and R.
7969 was a previous year, was it not?

The 7969 was "released" the previous year but did not ship untill that year. The reason some of the decks are 4v on sub only, is a lot of people will run speakers of internal amp. No point in wasting money on that when they could add other features. Those that did need the 4v all the way around could step up.
