ok so my friend bought a deck and I wired it up to the harness which was bought from Best Buy for the Accord and throw it in his 1989 Honda Accord..the deck won't turn on at all..and of course I wired it up right...to make sure the wiring was right I hooked it up to my 1995 Acura Integra and it powers on and works fine..but the other thing is his stock radio will power on...but this deck won't...

any solutions?

So when you plug the stock deck back in it fires up okay? Check the fuse on the aftermarket deck to see if it is good, or did you try the deck in your Acura? Everything is hooked up right for sure: http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf You used one of these harnesses: http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=70-1720

I just match colour to colour, solder and heatshrink or use butt conectors, give each connection a tug to make sure that it is sound. The deck is not powering up at all in the Accord? I don't hook up the dimmer wire though, personally.

I have found that some decks in Toyotas from that same era will not turn on unless the antenna is plugged into the back, also, I believe the antenna helps to ground the chassis. Was the antenna plugged in?

Check your BACKUP fuse under the hood, I think thats it, especially since you said when the stock deck is plugged in it works... Well try it anways.
