Buy my 05 RE XXX 12" with fried tinsels, my ported 2.2 cuft @ 35hz box (1" MDF slot port with black carpet), and my Visonik 1500W amp, and get a re-cone for the XXX for about $150. She ***** hard and I'm only selling this stuff to try and get two 05 XXX 15's :O. I had this in a sunfire trunk with the rear seat folded down, with stock electrical, no deadening, and 1/0 wiring. It's not "insane" bass, but it's a hell of a lot better than MOST stuff. I havn't heard a better budget system for daily. Unless you have an 06+ RE XXX, Treo SSX, or something that takes near 2000W or of that calibre, I don't think you'll find better SQL performance anywhere, even if you do, it'll probably cost an arm and a leg, and the 06 XXX is so impractical. My rearview fell off, it's louder and sounds better than my buddys truck that has 4 ported 12's on 1200W. PM me for details.

I paid 600 for my subs and amp. 2 10s 1 2500 watt amp from maxxsonics and its very loud. I built the box myself, but is tuned high for competing. For 1500 you could do some shaking.

The prelude is a loud car and it is good at letting the neighbors know you have a loud car, the Accord has a drop down rear seat so they are pretty good for what you are looking for

If you want to go low you need to design for low... big box, long port etc. if you want to go loud then power is needed and eventually an extra battery when the lights pulse to the beat. A good sub/box/ 4 gauge wire/ fusing/ will set you back around $1k to go the extra yard (0 gauge, extra batteries, etc) wont kill you financially but neither will you notice the difference with your ears (but the meter will). I dont see an issue with a 15" driver in your setup and that is what I would use (a 12" can get it done too but you have to design it right... 10" more of a challenge but that makes it more impressive)... and I think the SQ of your system is a little higher on your priority list than you think it is

STRI3R....sigh...The civic coupe is too a decent SQ car... all the hondas sound good (which is irritating since I dont own one)... and that 1 farad cap isn't doing all you think it is doing as far as saving your but electrically (not enough coulombs and joules baby), but you did get a sweet a$$ deal

Yes I did, that's why i'm not complaining. :P
Life is all about connections baby (and some luck too).
Yeah, Hondas are pretty good, especially when I can fold down my rear seats, however, I haven't even installed the dynamat extreme yet. So damn lazy. I figured i'd just slap some under the trunk. Don't know exactly how much that roll will cover. Any tips on slapping on dynamat?

Also, i'm getting an annoying shaky rattle sound from the bottom left rear (and a bit on the right) of the car. I can't figure out if it's from the inside or the outside. I'm hoping the dynamat will help out...

1500w and two L7's with a good box and good battery will hit. But good box is key.

your gear doesnt matter. it's all about the box. Like the guy from Chicago ^^ said, get a pair of L7 12's with a 1500 watt amp and you'd be slamming.

But if your box is garbage, the best gear in the world wont save you. Having good electrical also helps. Need a good battery and wiring. And I dont mean a battery from Canadian tire and some fancy looking 4 gauge wire.

But then again, that's just my opinion. What is considered "boomin" to most people, I'd probably call weak. If i cant feel your bass from 2 blocks away you wasted your money.

My budget can go up to $2000 because I'm getting a $10000 loan for a car and a sound system... so I don't have a car yet but I'm looking at accords, preludes....

"800RMS @ 2ohms, is good power but its nothing special..."

Any suggestions?
If you don't have a car yet, and you're looking for a system, why not just buy my car, as it sits with the system it's yours for $9,500 then you have $500 left over!
