Anyone notice how its not the 8250 yet?

Its the lower end (8240 is it?) one.. The silk screening on the front gave it away. the 8250's say "platinum 2000" or something like that on it. This is only the "1000" model. Also the spec on these say "2v"..

200 bucks is about right for this one. not really much of a deal.

Actually, I have the 8240, and it sounds great. and for anyone looking to mould in or otherwise have a unique HU install, these are perfect candidates because the front is so easy to integrate into a dash.

200 isn't a bad price, I paid 300 for mine, and it's worth every penny; especially when other competitors get that "WHAT??!!??!" look on their face when I tell them that I don't use any processing at all, and it still sounds great, and very tonally accurate.

Just curious, but what so great about these decks other than the simple styling. Is there superior components, transport or DAC(s). I like the styling but not at the expense of convenient features like mp3/wma etc...anyway, just my 3cents.

These units are made by Denon, they are amazing, simple, and uncluttered CD transports with a great tuner in them. no processing or MP3 or WMA. honestly, if you want these decks for sound quality, MP3 or WMA won't cut it for you SQ wise so it's not a big deal. it you're looking for MP3 and WMA, then you're not as concerned with true SQ as those who prize these decks.
