You would have to be a dumb *** to be watching a screen while driving....
But if I want to have the screen playing while Iam driving for the benifit of passangers, or even so Iam more noticable to some tail at a stop light....
shouldnt matter... get a lawyer, you'll get off...
Do something dangerous or cause an accident, then youre in trouble....
BTW, the laws for speeding are very clear.. and its still illegal to speed even if you dont get caught....
notice still, that every car I have ever seen on the road is still capable of breaking any speed limit...
We have this thing in NAmerica that alot of people dont seem to understand... ITS CALLED FREEDOM...

what about if its being used for navigation, it cant be illegal then because cars are sold in this country with lcd's in plain view of the driver and the owner can look at it all he want while trying to follow a map, wouldnt that be just as distractiong yet legal

LOL Oh man Haunz you don't listen do you?
It's not very complicated man, it's illegal I know. Here's the proof. So watching a movie in view of the driver is always illegal, regardless if you get "caught" or not.
Televisions, computers, etc.
71(1) No person shall operate or cause to be operated on a highway a vehicle
equipped with a television set, video screen or computer screen unless:
(a) the equipment is securely and safely mounted in the vehicle;
(b) the equipment is located so that it does not obstruct the view of the
driver; and
(c) except as provided in subsection (2), any image that is displayed by the
equipment is not visible to the driver.
(2) An image displayed on a television set, video screen or computer screen may
be located so that it is visible to the driver if the image only displays information
that is solely designed to assist the driver:
(a) in the safe operation of the vehicle, or in ensuring the safety and security
of its load or its passengers;
(b) to navigate;
(c) by displaying the time;
(d) if that driver is a peace officer, to carry out his or her duties as a peace
officer; or
(e) to assess fees or charges payable by passengers or users of the vehicle.

found it johnny... its pretty specific..
For phun I called the local OPP station and asked about it.. the guy I talked to gave me the same rundown...
I asked about HUs or any other electronics with a computerized display... he said if they are being operated 'or in use' while you are driving you can be charged....
I commented that it was kind of funny that using the stock radio in a car while driving was against the law...
he said something to the effect of the screens are more visable (to the officer) and most people would only get caught if they do something stupid while playing with thier radio...
-fancey hus with bright displays are more likely to get you caught-
Edit: the guy just called me back wondering why I wanted to know..
