Which do you prefer?

Hey Mike, are you REALLY surprised the way this post ran off.....I'm not.
As far as Reps not coming by, we carry Bazzoka amps and never saw anyone, Rockford amps saw no one, Pionner decks, speakers, GPS no one, a whack load of Sony again no one, JVC and Panasonic.....you guessed it NO ONE.
You would think the size that FS and BB is we might see someone coming in to ensure that the product they "rep" is being presented in a way they would like to see.
Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
As far as the question at the begining of the thread.....I prefer Reps that do not come by.......been doing well so far so why change things now. I really do not care to have a rep come in and tell me why the crap they "rep" is better than the other crap that just tells us the same thing. Every time I ask for any type of help from Reps we just get the run around until they need a demo car so "No thanks".

By appointment only
I didn't mind when I was visited by a Rep. If I didn't order anything, I'd at least be given whatever industry gossip was going around.., that was always good for a laugh.
Now, my boss wants the reps to make an appointment, those reps that drop by are told to make an appointment, short and sweet.
I can understand why this method would suit business owners and reps alike.

Mike.........I dont recall anyone from F.S. saying they didn't want this brand. And there are some independants out there that carry this product and have done real well with it.
Audison boards are made in ITALY.......I can show you pictures of dealer trips we have gone to in Italy where their amps are made from silk screening the boards all the way through final production......so know you can say you know of ONE brand that doesn't have their boards made in the far-east.
Claudio.......I was in ALL (17 in the lower mainland and the island) the F.S. stores at least once a quarter. The fact that you didn't see me in your store, doesn't mean I wasn't there.
I got employee numbers and names of the guys I did talk to when I was there.
If you think it worthwhile to visit the install bays while there, please advise and I will gladly do that. Or make a scheduled appointment......then again, please advise. We were never told that we had to speak to anyone in particular or make appointments.....but if thats what you think would work best, I can accommodate that for you guys.
And your right......reps that come in and spout off about how great their stuff is compared to other dealers, might be out of line. In my opinion a rep for B.B. / F.S. or any other storefront should be there to answer any questions or train the staff....not bash other brands.
Regardless.......I will be in the F.S. stores once a quarter as before to visit staff, etc. And if you call me, I will answer your call and assist in whatever manner I can, and I promise I wont ask you to build a demo vehicle.

I feel it more important that reps visit the people that are installing their product than the people that sell based on what will make them the most money.
JUst my opinion....

x3 - and it's totally true. If the sales guys get friction from the installers about selling a certain item, it won't get sold very often. Plus it is surprising how often the installer gets dragged into the sales presentation and customers seem to think our opinion more honest than a salesperson. suckers
And Grant - I never meant to imply the Exile stuff is low end. Just my opinion that the styling is along the same vein many other 'new' brands. IMO the RF and MTX amps have more classic "North American amp" laid back styling. Just an opinon.

Hey Grant, not saying you are not in the stores because you may be right and I just do not see you.......BUT, in order to get the FULL experience I fully agrree with Shawn......you need to see both Sales and Service.
NOW. this also appiles to ALL "Reps" on this Board.
