I agree that if dont want to do the big3, then at least do the negative on the battery with the same size wire as the positive - again complete circuit theory. Come on jalat, lay off the booze

what i was trying to say was that you can't get away with only doing 2/3 steps of the big 3 and expect results.

Awesome. Maybe you can help me find a hole in the firewall to run the power wire. Or make one

I agree there is no 2/3 in big3, but then we can decide to go with big2, in which case 2/3 will yield expected results for big2. Big1 is also an option, but if you want to do it SPL style Yuli recommends to do big3 and also the little3 to gain the extra edge lol

Ahhh, the frosted flakes bandit makes a guest appearance.....

I would like to know how the owner of the shop got the Focal and Morel speakers to try for so long when the line is not available to him in the first place...... hmmmm....

BTW, I have your speakers with the nice bi-amp crossovers and I am holding them hostage.

Two things. I agree that if there is a less important wire in "the big 3", it is the alternator to battery wire. The factory cable carries the current the factory alternator provides just fine. Aside from a probable increase in duty cycle, the cable won't be carrying any more current after you add your system. You WILL be pulling current in larger chunks out of the battery though, so it makes sense that the return path be upgraded.

As far as the speakers - who is to say the guy didn't like the sound of the Pioneers more than the other two? It's amazing what some people prefer. And what if the Pioneers were in fact PRS comps? They can hold their own against any driver at the same price point IMO so to unilaterally write off "Pioneer" against what could be Focal or Morel entry level drivers is equally as moronic.

food for thought.

And for the OP, no, I don't think you got ripped off.

Well I for one am not one to put much concern in the rms rating of a speaker. If he was refering to (and it seems like he was) the pioneer TS-C720PRS set then those are some damn nice speakers.. and are rated at only 50watts... however lots of guys run 300 or more on em, they are extremely power hungry. They play low and have some of the lowest distortion you can get in a mid regardless of price.

AAAAAAA I think you're right about which set it was. The reason I frowned at the RMS rating is because he recommended those over the Moral Ovation line that I'm going to be getting. which is rated at 160WRMS. If it is able to take over 300rms on them, then that does seem impressive. I just wish I had access to all these speakers so I could try them out. But I don't think I'll be disappointed with the Ovations.
