The 6x9" will indeed have more output if you look at it based solely on area. That said though, I have heard 6.75" speakers with amazing midbass output. The 6x9" component set from Eclipse is a great set of speakers to consider. Now budget dependent as well, look at the SC8365 component set and have a look at the new Focal 3way set as well.

ECLIPSE by Fujitsu Ten These are indeed a 2way component set, the tweeters are removeable and come with mounts.

ECLIPSE Component Series Speaker SC8355 | Fujitsu Ten One of my favorite 3way component sets.

Focal JMlab enceintes acoustiques haute fidélité haut-parleurs voiture audiomobile Car audio tuning Have a look at the 165A3 component set.

Definitely go with another of the Bassworx subs, absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

Hmmm, I will be coming down in to Vancouver likely within the next few days to get a van. If I can talk the wife in to it i'd like to pick up one of the bassworx 12.2 off you. The last time I was looking at adding another bassworx the price you gave was 69.99. Does that still apply?

I picked up two sets of the Eclipse SP6900's for my Caravan and I love them. I have them setup as two way components in the front and coax in the back. I had to get some 1/4" rings done to clear the windows, but other than that, they fit great. Amazing sound at a decent price.

I will honour that price for a second Bassworx sub. I think that was around Christmas time that you were looking from what I remember.

Ya it was around Christmas. I had the sub in a sedan at that time, sealed and it sucked. I ported it which helped however was not enough output for the sedan. I then put it in my Yaris and it sounded much better.

I will likely be down there saturday...ish. Do you have a phone number you can pass along so I can call when we are down there?

Also, after getting the van I will have to determine where in the vehicle I would be putting the subs. Just out of curiosity is it possible to run box subs in seperate ported boxes or would it sound weird. I am just trying to consider all my mounting options.

You certainly can run the subs in separate ported boxes. Store # is 250-897-3397 and shop is open from 10am to 6pm.

I see you are on the island. Probably not gonna make my way over there so if the wife lets the leash of a bit and I can get another sub it will probably have to be shipped or fathered up to me.

On another note, suppose I stay with my current 2 channel Phoenix Gold Ryval amplifier. Now my thoughts are put my energy 5 1/4's in the dash and use the door speaker locations to purchase a midbass woofer. Is it possible to run all 4 speakers on the 2 channel amp. It is stable to 2 ohm. My concern would be if you could properly cross everything over.

I would not recommend that you spend your $ on a midbass driver for the door and then try and make them work with the Energy speakers in the dash. I would however highly recommend that you use the Eclipse pointsource 6x9" and use a amp on them or if the $ allow you to, then use the Focal or Eclipse 3way component set in the front doors. Keep it simple if you want good results for a moderate investment. If you really want to do a 3 way setup in can indeed be done but the add on woofer idea is going to necessitate another amp and a bandpass crossover. It will be even more $ to do that vs. the 3way component set. I think my dad is set to arrive here tomorrow...shudder....

I appreciate your feedback. I'll be in touch one way or the other within a couple days to let you know what, if any equipment I am in a position to purchase.

I don't get the eclipse 3way components, the midrange is crossed so high that the fact that they are small and easy to aim is useless since most of the localisation cues will still come from the midbase driver... to bad really.

Rob, do you have any 3 ways that are around 300 to 500$ preferably with a dome midrange ? I can't think of any in that price range but figured I would ask (besides possibly the eclipse).
