Off the top of my head right now the only other 3way kit that I have sold before is the Focal 165A3 set and they have proven to be a solid set of speakers. Little on the pricy side though, little over the $500 mark. I am going to put the Eclipse set in my girls BMW Z4, I think that she will be more than happy with the results. I have used the Eclipse before and found them a great set of speakers.

I am not saying the 3way eclipse doesn't sound good, I am just saying it would work just as well and be less complicated as a 2 way as the midrange is crossed to high to justify it even being there IMO.

For the OP, when the energy comps came out they were 250$ and they were aparently a bargain for their price range, tops in price\performance... now they are a steal for what you can get them at future shop. Perhaps consider getting the 6.5 set or the 6x9 to match your 5 1\4.

ya i went in today and looked at a set of the 6.5" energy. I love the sound the only problem is that I would want component and the energy tweeters SUCK to mount as they are not flush and quite deep. Of course this would not be a problem if I had in fact bought a caravan but in true fashion I switched it up last minute and grabbed a Chevy Malibu. They have stock components in them. I would not be able to fit the energy tweeters in the stock location.

Aside from that I did find a nice little surprise when going to purchase a wiring harness. Integrated harness required, $150 that didn't need spending.

I really wish those bassworx subs sounded good in a sealed enclosure cause then my overhead would be considerably lower. As it stands I need to find some overtime to get a 2nd sub and make a proper dual ported box.

I just posted a new topic in the general discussion area in regards to the stock speakers. Took back the harness cause it was not required. I have a little more faith in the car now. Just a little though
