does splitting rca's/pre outs do anything to the signal?

does splitting rca's/pre outs do anything to the signal?
my deck has one preout and I will be using a 4 channel amp that has 4 rca inputs. I was wondering if i used a rca splitter the ones that have one female on one side and two male rca's on the other does that impact the signal to the amplifier.
Hoping someone knows the answer to this.

First of all I would not worry about it.
There will be a little loss of signal strength (very little voltage BUT the current draw would increase) , the output impedance as seen by the HU preamp output stage will drop so the load will be more difficult for the HU to drive. This will have an electrical effect (current will lag voltage with maybe a slower slew rate) but the SQ effect will be minimal (if any) I have certainly done this many times in the car and never noticed a real difference.
Current IC based amplifiers are not very good at current production so I would use the y splitter only once in a circuit.
