Why not only run one sub at 4 ohm with the proper sized vented box? Sell the other sub. You would be surprised how similar in sound 2 subs in a box not to spec with little power versus 1 sub with proper power in a proper box would sound. I would guess it would sound even better, lower extension as you can tune the box lower. Try it and see...

You might be able to properly port that box if...big if...there is enough room at the bottom to run four(4) 3"x 22" pieces of pvc pipe under the subs extending into the box from one of the sides (or 2 on each side which is actually better to maintain box strength). This will yield a net internal volume of approx 2.73 cubic feet with port and speaker displacement(this can be virtually increased by adding approx 3lbs of polyfill...it will then emmulate approx. 3.4 cubes), and give you a 34 hz tune with much more (28 square inches) of port area yielding a very reasonable 25 m/s max port velocity between 30-40hz (averaged for 4 similar drivers since i don't have your driver's specs, but it'll be close) and 600watts rms. Ofcourse you'd have to plug the slot port. Just an idea for you.

100% agree, you would have less trunk space used and you will be just as loud.

yeah, this is a very good idea...then your amp will work properly at 4ohms, and with a properly ported large box it'll be better all around. Great suggestion.

Very interesting. I would have enough room for those ports if I did them properly, that is definitely an option although I would still want to get the proper amp. Running just one sub is starting to sound like the best plan right now.. I like symmetry but I guess I can't always win. I'll think about it for a little then decide what I want to do. Atleast I have a few options now and for the mean time I still have some bass...

Thanks everyone

1 sub > 2 subs in most applications.

Well I suppose having a spare sub or the value of one would be worth it for me aswell. That might be what I need to do..

I know pro eh and I can fit 2 full party pizza bags (3 per bag so technically 6 parties lol) in front of it. With subs off... Only one with the subs on but I don't think many people like their pizza shook.
