Eclipse CD5000 or Pioneer Premier 880PRS?

I'm building an SQ system in my truck one piece at a time and I'm starting with the HU. I have it narrowed down to these two but not sure which one to go with. I realize the HU is only a fraction of making a good SQ system but which will give me the best SQ?
The Premier has dual 16-band graphic EQ and the Eclipse has a 7-band parametric EQ. Does the dual 16-band make up for the fact that its graphic as opposed to parametric?
That's the only major difference that I can see except for the 8V vs 5V preouts which I'm not too worried about.
Any comments on these two? The more I read about them the more confused I am on which one to get.

Also, does anyone know a good place in the Van C area where I can purchase these two HUs?

And I was just through Kamloops the other day, too bad. I sell both cd players that you are interested in and for me there is no thinking about which one I would use myself, I would use the Eclipse. I have this Eclipse model in stock right now as well.

Great thanks guys. Just out of curiousity though, why would you choose the Eclipse over the Premier?

Eclipse IMO puts more into the SQ then flashy displays and funky options you will never use. Not to mention easier to navigate while driving. Kind of like back to basics. Easy to use and sound great. IMO

Simple, out of the box with absolutely no adjustments to be made, the Eclipse sounds better, more detail in the music. A better warranty and a better theft deterrent top it off.

Is the auto EQ/TA a big deal compared to Eclipse's manual? What about the listening position selector and the 3-way crossover that the Pioneer has?

I have two customers that have used the auto eq function. While it is a cool tool for a dedicated die hard, chances are for most people that they would never use it. I could really care less about the listening position selector and the 3way crossover myself as very few people actually use that feature and it can be done outboard as well. Again, out of the box, the Eclipse offers superior tonal response and that is what you should key on.

Wouldn't the auto EQ/TA be easier to use the then manual on the Eclipse? I'm going for SQ remember, hopefully eventually competition worthy SQ. I don't mind fine tuning all of the options if that's what's neccessary. I consider myself an audiophile not an "'Oh this $59 HU will do, as long as it plays CDs' and keeps the stock speakers w/ no sub" kind of guy.

So I guess the questions is not whether or not I'd use the options it's if I did would it make it better than the Eclipse?
