hmmm, not sure wether you are being sarcastic or what but eD is basically only available in 3 places: www.edesignaudio.com , www.audiohole.com (They have a store at this auction site) and www.genuinecanadianaduio.com
Find me more than a handfull of companies that actually engineer and manufacter they're own speakers. Comment all you want on the design and manufacture of a sub you know NOTHING about but to take a quick quote from Dave MacKinnon's review of the e10O.14 in PAS:
"The e10O.14 is indeed the embodiment of what a great subwoofer should be. It's subtle in terms of cosmetics and downright ostentatious when it comes to purist performance."
And that is they're mid level driver

Do you think ED would advertise or have anything to do with a mag that bashes its woofer.. of course it was a good reveiw. </font>
I've been talking to Dave for a couple years now about different products....he knows his stuff, and will not hesitate to let you know if he doesn't like a product...obviously he's not gonna out and out say, yea this piece was garbage, in the magazine....but you can tell if he's not too impressed with something.

Dave's creditbility should not be the question. If you dont like a product, state concrete, defendable reasons 'WHY'.
Most companies in MOST industries use some sort of 'u-buy it we make it' process.
It is simply the easiest way of doing business, there is nothing wrong with it.
At any given point, there were/are only a given number of electronic companies making components for EVERY brand name company in the world. Why would Sony, Panasonic, Alpine, JVC, JL, etc ALL manufacture their own unique circuit boards, when there is some subcontractor that manufactures the same, universal thing, without the cost of setting up an entire manufacturing department.
To just make essentialist statements about anything reflects only your ignorance, not the quality of the product, or whatever, you are discussing

All I gotta say is that I had 2 15" ED K's and they were they best two subs I have ever owned.
You would be stupid to pass up a oppertunity like this one WITH A 3 YEAR WARRANTY or to comment about about a subwoofer that you have never owned.

eD makes an amazing product and for the price its hard to compete with them. The only problem with the link i posted is that you will get taxed on the item but i just wanted to bring it to peoples attention as I received and email about this clearance.

First, I have no problem with eD - how could I? I have never physically seen and thus used one. Nor have I ever met someone face to face who has used one. They get lots of good press on the internet though.
Personally I am cautious of small startup companies. What happens if something unspeakable befalls this "Ben" (I assume he owns eD ) ? Where's the warranty now? Same goes for the other brands like Adire, RE, Onyx, and the list goes on. Some nice products. Some excellent products even but all it takes is something tragic to a single person and *poof* the company is gone.
Pessimistic you say? Well I DO happen to personally know one person well and one person by the board here that lost sizeable money when a company owner took sick (or so the story went) and need we mention Shocker (not sickness but poor businessman)..
I would never discourage someone from trying any brand but I can see how some people may be wary of small companies with direct or semi-direct distribution only and limited management
Anyway - not the point of the thread but just saying I see both sides: Exciting semi rare product is cool but can be risky.

I will also add, it is in my opinion that it would be a wiser choice to deal with a company with many years of research and development behind them, than to spend money on a product that shares all or many of the same parts which incorperate older technologies.
Its just an opinion.
