I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE. It has a 60amp alternator. I have put in a Clarion DXZ825 deck and will be puttin in a DD3512 powered off a Kicker DX700 with an unregulated power supply. I will be runnin the sh!tty factory speakers for now but I have a Pioneer GM-X332 2 channel amp that does 35 W rms x 2 @ 4 ohms. I have 2 questions

1. will the factory speakers be able to handle the pioneer amp or r there chances of me blowin em?

2. will the electrical system be able to handle the load of the 2 amps or m i better of jus runnin the speakers off the deck?

Thanx,
Neil

I would run the factory speakers off the deck! It should be fine! You may need to upgrade your electral system if you are running two amps. Especially off the alternator that is in your car right now. 60AMPS doesn't seem like much! But I could be wrong!

ive run two amps in quite a few different cars and havent had aproblem yet with an alternator.
as for your factory speakers you wont blow them if you dont crank it up till they distort.

Are you sure that is all your Alt can put out? Seems low even for a compact like that.

I guess one thing you could do is look at the fuse values for your amps and your deck, combine them all together and if they are greater than 60 amps upgrade your alternator.

As for the factor speakers, since you are running subs put a high pass filter on your factory speakers. The amp probably has a high-pass built in, its just a matter of turning it on. If not, place a capacitor in series with the factory speakers.

I would have to agree, 60 amps is kinda low, even my saturn has a 90amp alt, and i'm sure that even a Geo metro has a 55amp alt.

All the new econo cars come with extremely small alts. I m 90% sure that the alt puts out 60 amps. I cant afford to to get a new alt or have this one rewound so its gonns have to do. The pioneer anm is only 35 x 4 w rms and if i hook it up i will be usin the hi pass filter for sure.

nother question.

I have an audiobahn anl fuse that will go near the battery. the wire i want to use will be bout 2 feet from the battery to the anl fuse. is within the minimum safety requirements?
I will be splittin the wire in the trunk usin a fused distro block.

If neone has done n install in a 2000 up sentra where did u mount the fuse holder under the hood.
I will be runnin the rcas on one side and the power wire on the other side of the car. is there a pref as to which side should be for the power and which side for the rcas?

Thanx

Minimum requirements is a fuse 18" or less from the battery, so move the fuse up 6" and you meet the requirements.
