I can almost guarantee that you are feeding a crossed over signal into the amp thus causing this dilema
what you need to do is grab a cheap RCA and cut it... don't cut the factory harness but rather strip it and splice the RCA directly onto it.
get an Audio control unit suitable for the job. they have the option of grounded or floating input/output( or atleast they used to) get a professional installer to complete the job!(i'm not putting down Jalat's ability... just a lack of knowledge in this situation)

 

stock speakers sound distorted when you put the volume up, due to the amount of bass coming from them when you tune the bass flat ( 0 ), so thats why we have it down.

When you adjusted the bass to -5 did you factor in that the 'Q' on that deck radio is probably 0.50 so it adjusted all frequencies from 10hz to 100+hz.
