Kiss the back end of your cars storage area goodbye. It is going to be one heck of a heavy box as well. More than likely going to affect how the vehicle handles and sits on the back end due to the weight as well. If you can make it work for you, great, you are going to get copious amounts of bass from it. There is no generic one size fits all box for you, you are going to have to do the work on your own to figure out how that box is going to fit into this vehicle.

For speakers and a amp for them, come up with a budget and I will see what I can find for you.

Are you planning on taking out the spare tire and all the trunk storage? Removing the rear seats?

Edit: It's going to be tough to fit the enclosure jalat drew up for you under the hatch, even with the spare tire removed.

i would consider a sealed box given the space limitations and the fact that a sub as big as that with so much power will still deliver a ridiculous amout of bass for daily use. Even though those subs aren't designed for sealed applications, you may want to investigate if it's feasible or not...just a suggestion. Also, you may want to get a 15" instead if you can exchange it...the 15 in a properly designed 3-4cube box would probably out perform the 18 in a not so optimal box, plus you should be able to fit it in a lot easier.

For reference, here's a home made fiberglass box in a 3000gt/Stealth that replaces the rear seats with 15" in it.

Here is some comments he made about it...
The total build cost for the Box Alone was over $440 in materials! (majority of the cost was from resin and cloth)

I powered the sub with an RF 1,000 watt true rms amp. Believe it or not, NOTHING rattles! 15 inches of sub is way too much for our little cars!
I know that's not really what you are looking for since you plan on making a wood box, but it gives you an idea of what you may have to do to fit that 18" in your car.

Do the rear seats fold down in this type of the vehicle? Also like i said earlier you need to get the dimensions and then see if something can be worked out. If not get a smaller woofer.

Well that would be a HATCHBACK, not a coupe, a coupe would have a seperate trunk from the cabin. So that makes it much easier to fit an 18 in their.

It will fit, but for your vehicle and you wanting the effeciency you can get, you would be better with sub up port up and much larger port area.
