QD7 is the motor code from the korean factory FI gets their parts from. When FI calls korea they say "we need 100 QD7's", when the korean person punches that into their computer they know exactly what FI is asking for.

Taco is right, that is a 10 year old shocker motor.

I thought FI was handmade ie:machined inhouse?, no?
or does hand made mean assembled by hand....hahaha

hand made means they glued the soft parts together and on to the basket.

i stay away from "hand made" brands. quality always proves to be inferior.

funny thing is, assembly line subs made in china or wherever are of much better build quality than any of this FI or whatever stuff. Why do you think JL and Kicker have warranty???? Try getting any warranty from FI.

this is why we used china made american bass HD subs. super cheap and supper durrable.

dont get me wrong, im not brand specific, my backup in the car right now is a 12" L7, and its bangin HARD!!!
and my 1st system WAAAYYYY back in '99/2000, was in Prince George, I had a aerostar with 6 JL W6's, runnin off 3 PPI PC 1800's, in a wall, that was when John Henry was on top
him and Alma were and still are my inspiration!!

I still rock old school woofers and rebuild them myself, seems the only way to get assurance of a well built woofer.
