As mentioned, he says the Tahoe was built for groundpounding, and that seems to be what it does best, but how many of these setups do you see putting up numbers like it does... can't say I've ever seen a 150+ broken at 20hz or whatever it was. If the best of both worlds is what you want, and what you actually got, power to you.

i dunno, in steve's application does it really matter what subs he uses?? i would also have to agree that he is not the best example, simply not because of the numbers but rather of the power levels. with so much power any subs would be loud as long as they held up and im sure it would do the number too.

whoa guys, whats with all the razing steve??
i dont knoe about you guys but throwing 21kwats of power DAILY in your system IS alot no matter how you look at it,
sure anyone can hook that much power up, wall it, tune it alot higher, and hit bigger numbers, but like he keeps saying, its his DAILY goundpounder,
me personally would rather have a setup hitting 154 daily, being able to listen to music, then have a setup hitting 160+ and not being able to enjoy my everytday...
and adam, ease off bro, does it look like he needs your help?? i think hes doing alright myself,
rant over,
peace

this is off topic, but do u really need that loud of a daily set up? 145 is more than enough when u play music. this past summer i had a daily set up with 3 12's and roughly 6k rms doin 152 in a simple ported box in my jeep. box was tuned to 34hz. it was more than enough, often times i didnt even enjoy it. i had no problems creating the 'WOW' effect at all the local Tims and other hang out spots but u couldnt really listen to it that loud for too long.
i've downgraded for the winter to a pair of 10's and 3k watts, it is alot more enjoyable and my eyes dont water anymore.

There is definetely a serious level of 'show off' to steve's system. I don't think anyone would do that kind of system without showing it off. I guarantee he listens at moderate levels the majority of the time, but when at comps and showing off, he's got some serious bass on tap. If you look all over his vehicle, it isn't just huge subs slapped to a ton of power. I like his install, fairly clean all over, some nice custom work in the engine, speakers, etc. I think that maybe he could be louder, but he has the whole package, clean install, nice sounding, loud as hell. It is true though, with that kind of power, almost any subs that could handle it would result in similar volume levels. The btl's were a direct drop in for his mt's. May be around 1-2 db gain/loss.
