Finally cracked it

Well after at least 2+ years with the same gear in the same car, I look up to my rearview mirror and there is a 3 inch horizontal crack just above the button for the mirror

The car is a 2005 Matrix. I'm now thinking about somehow to re-attach the mirror to the headliner as opposed to cracking more of my windshield

Anyone with similiar issue? and if so how did you resolve it?

My only guess was that time I played "Welcome to the Machine"

that means ur windsheild is getting old and cant take the pressure anymore... swap it out and keep bumping.. happens

not sure if theres anyway to my knowledge to attach a new mirror to the headliner.

Well except for the crack it is "was" in great condition. There is no way to attach it directly to the headliner, however if I pull the headliner down I may be able to bolt a bracket to the crossbar at the front of the roof (where the sun visors are fastened). No power has been added, but most of the car has been deadened, possibly leaving my windshield left to take the brunt.
