Idiot ummm....no!!! It took me a while to understand this idea but it does the trick....

The carpet will act as a seal plus there is 3" bolts holding the amp rack to the 1.5" bottom plate....

H701 makes crazy data noise now...even with no signal to the unit except power, ground , remote.........WTF

Hopefully Alpine Tech support can help out!! You call is important to us...Blah Blah Blah....This guys was absolutely useless....according to him my 701 and 505 are pooched

 

Seen that happen before, was a cold solder on the board. If it's still under warranty though don't open it up..the boys at W.C are not shy about voiding your warranty

very weird....the unit is fine...I got to Jason's the thing would even turn on the H701...another Alpine 505 hard boot and bam all is good...Then we figured out that the optical only plays with a signal from the CDP not the ipod...anyways it's running but no photos cause my Nikon is at Jason's as the finishing stages are in his crafty hands. Jay if you're reading this...Thanks again....worth every penny! Btw those wings were f'n huge...17 was enough for me!

 

Jules if you cannot figure it out, my Bitone will be at finals/ or can be... you are welcome to use it, if you cannot figure this out..

I do not want you losing sleep over a 701..

 

I think it was cause my battery was low from listening in the garage and it f'd something up....
