I used a similar product except it was a thin plastic for the 6.5 mids in my doors. I found it muddy sounding. Definately better sound without. The foam construction of the xtc's may make difference though.

Most drivers for cars are made for an IB setup (as in in the doors, or rear deck)(ever try and find the T/S on mid-range drivers) The most common mistake is placing drivers in enclosures that are to small, and kill off low freq extension. Depending on the driver, putting a driver in this type of "enclosure" may help out, or may make it worst. Try with some old cool whip/butter/tupperwear plastic bowls first. Save yours some money also.

These baffles are a great idea to use in a door where moisture may be a concern, just cut out the bottom part of the baffle, this way it will still be able to act as a rain sheild for that nice Quart driver and allow the airspace to couple with the door cavity.

most manufaturers will provide you with ts parameters upon request, most will work best in vented boxes compared to ib or sealed, sealed being the least desirable, although vented will yield the best results 99% of the time its impractical and very time consuming and costly, aka, go ib before sealed, mr2nr's advice of removing the bottom half of the cup and using it for moisture protection makes the most sense, good luck
