I'm putting in 5 1/4" speakers where I used to have 5X7's. What shape and thickness of wood should I build it out of?
Pics would be awesome

Trace the 5x7 on a peice of half inch mdf then router that out then draw the 5 1/4 onto that peice. Cut that hole out.that sould look mint and fit perfect.Paint or carpet the new peice's so you dont see the wood through the panel.

some 1/2" MDF screwed and siliconed to the 5x7 hole will make a great baffle.
