Focal Tweeter

Hey everyone....

Ok, I have the following equipment:

1. Clarion CZ702
2. Focal 165 KRX2
3. Soundstream Precision Power 4.920
4. Rockford Fosgate Power T1000-1BDCP 1000
5. Very Old Focal Coaxial Rear Speakers
6. Infinity PERFECT 10DVQ Subwoofer

The tweeter is driving me nuts. I am getting listener fatigue. It seems to come from the rear speakers. I try tuning with the Clarion, but, nothing seems to work to dial down the tweeter. I read on a different forum something about the Clarion only goes down to 1.2hz for the tweeter or something like that. Maybe the Clarion is just not a good head unit with limited tuning capability with 5 eq's. I plan to replace it with the Pioneer 80PRS.

What else could it be? Maybe the rear speakers? They are very old and the ear piercing tweeter seems to come from the rear. The rear speakers seem to overwhelm the front. Also, when I use the front and rear fader, I get no sound out of the front speakers when I turn the fade setting all the way to the left. I get full sound from the rear when turn all the way right and sound from both speakers with setting in center.

If I wanted to replace the rear speakers, what would be a very good rear coaxial speaker that would match well with Focal KRX2? I know many will say that you don't need rear fill, but, I like sound from rear speakers. I'm a little hesitant to get a newer Focal coaxial for fear of more tweeter issues. Maybe something with a soft dome tweeter.

Thanks

Seems like your speaker wiring or your rca's are mixed up, hence your fader is not working as it should, try getting that resolved first then think about replacing the rear speaker, also if possible you can disconnect the tweeter portion on the rear coax.

Btw, focals are generally on the harsh side as opposed to a more laid back sound.
