Forum Rules made by cdn Retailers!?

Why is it that a person is not allowed the right to mention EBAY on this forum unless it is in a negative context? I had a post removed, and "ebay" taken out of the title.
Are all the Moderators here retailers? If the amount of car audio markup in Canada wasn't so insulting Ebay would not be an issue.
Lots of people here know the markup %, so please inform us, seeing as this site is car audio and members wish to know why I can have a NEW sub shipped in it's box to my door for $160 only to see the EXACT sub in a store in BC "ON SALE" for $300. That is an insult to a customers intelligence. They realize that someone will pay that, if not they will lower the price. Mine has worked flawlessly for 3yrs now with no warranty.
If the retailer sub needed warranty work, how much would shipping cost, and how long of a wait until you have a sub again? For another $160, you can have one within a week like mine with no problems.
Every Cdn has the right to save money, and talk about it on forums such as this.
Give 2 people $1000 and send one to ebay and the other to retailers. Once installed, compare every detail. Then wait 1or2 yrs for the warranty to expire from the retailer gear and compare again.
There is a good reason why even people like Stephen Mantz visit ebay from time to time.
I have NEVER had a problem with paypal although I would like to mention retailers who I had problems with but the moderators he will not allow me to be honest as it hurts their bottom line.
If this post is edited or pulled, it proves that this board is just a sales pitch for retailers.

Perhaps we should list your job on e-bay and put you out of work then? If you have zero ability to know what the cost of business in Canada is, do not assume for one minute that you are correct as you are far from accurate in your statements.

The only person with "rights" on this forum would be the owner, not those of us who are lucky enough to have access to such a great site.

Later,
Brad

At least have the courage to tell me where I am wrong and explain yourself and ridiculous prices.
Just because there is competition from ebay and such awfull expendatures/overhead/corporate taxes in Courteney doesn't make it smart business to stick it to local kids by stretching your margin so much.
I know for a fact, that your very prices have turned people I know personally to ebay and have been very happy with their purchases. Or they buy something from me for pennies and seem to have much better sounding systems than the overseas over-rated stuff of today that is how much $/watt?? Just happens to be a bc store where I priced that sub!
You retailers have to realize that consumers are smarter than you think. When they see a product they know is now discontinued in a store for the suggested cdn retail it's an insult. It could be very unfortunate for some kid who works after school and saves his money, buys something for 100% more than he could have, but at least the retailer is surviving here in Canada!
Please Explain yourself.
Would you care to see pix of the gorgeous Helix HXA500 Q MKII I got in mint condition for $240 cdn shipped? I wish I knew what the suggested cdn retail was? Oh well, I would never, ever be able to own an amp like this without this BC retailer sending me to ebay after telling me that handmade us amps were "meat & potato" quality and your made in china stuff was superior. I would expect that from a commision saleshark at a furniture store not the owner of an install shop.
After all, I would prefer to do my business with an indy as apposed to a chain or ebay. When it comes down to the $$ then toss in some insults/b.s., I will prefer paypal and ebay anytime.

I know for a fact that the owner of the site is not a retailer, and that the only moderator with a retail outlet (which is an ONLINE store) is JordyO.

That said, check the rules and you'll find out that they say that you're nto allowed to post links to ebay auctions, because this is a total waste of our bandwidth, since anyone who is in the market for an item who is willing ot shop on ebay will usually look there for themselves.

Also, when you signed up to join this forum you clicked a little box that said you accepted the terms and conditions of using the site, which includes not posting ebay auctions. If you don't like it, I feel your pain (I assume that being stupid is painful) but them's the rules, and that's life. if you don't like the rules, then you can continue to disobey them, hoping that they'll change, OR you can realize that disobeying them will get you booted, and just live within the rules.

Get your facts right

I did not post a link. I mentioned "ebay" in the title.
Maybe a rocket-surgeon like yourself could step away from the idiot cookies and show me where that is against the rules before the little box I checked!
And please post it for all to see. I just cannot seem to find it.

and what was in the body of the message?
Just curious because nobody here would close your post just for having ebay in the title.

again, I feel your pain (vicariously)

Even if you knew prices on items from a Canadian Dealer, which you dont, you do not understand that Canadian business is different then American business, and shops are different then Ebay business.

Lemme break it down for you.

Canadian vs. US business-Unfortunatly for us, most car audio items are NOT made in Canada. That means that there are fees and duties that need to be addressed when importing them. This adds to the dealer cost since the manufacturer wont cover at. As well, our dollar is worth less then the American dollar so Things tend to cost us more (And dont even bother to point out that the dollar is strong because there is always someone who wants more $ for exchanging it). This raises the dealer cost. As well, in order to be authorized, many manufacturers will put a limit on how cheap you can sell your products in order not to **** off their other dealers. This also limits reduction in prices.

Ebay vs. Actual business-Ebay business requires 1, maybe 2 ppl, possibly working from home and requiring an internet connection and a phone line. Actual business requires a building, staff, utilities, phone, internet, installers, tools, advertising, stock, and fixtures. These things are not free. As well, since many ebay sellers are not authorized dealers, they can sell for whatever they want to sell at and usually get things in buyouts and refurb sales.

A shop gives you service, answered questions, face to face sales, Guarantee of not scamming you, lifetime assistance, warranteed product, option of install, and the security of knowing if it broke they will take care of you IMMEDIATLY.

If you look really closly, you wont see these dealers driving Lambo's or going home to their 4 million dollar homes. In fact, many of these dealers are more concered with making you happy, because they get word of mouth and return business. Customer loyalty is VERY important.
