but why go bigger than you need too . if i have a 100amp on a wire that do not need to be that high (say i need a 50amp) i have 50 more then i need (ok) if i f### it up i'm doing 100amp arking when i just need to do 50amp (less harm)

if the wire gets cut say on something an 100amp fuse is going to do more bad than good if you get needed a 50amp WHAT DOES THE AMP FUSE HAVE TO DO WITH SHI# ABOUT THE WIRE

 

the fuse on the wire is to protect the wire incase of excessive current draw the fuse on the amp is to protect the amp

use the proper fuse for the lengh and gauge of the wire and and use the same fuse in the amp as what it stated in the amps manual and thats all there is to it
