kx1200 current draw, correct awg powere wire
#1
Was wondering what to do here.
System consist of 1 kx 1200.1 and a pg qx 150 that i recently bought from another board member
Anyway my power wire right now is 4 awg about 12 ft long.
I do plan on putting a bigger wire but i THINK im ok for now as i'm only running 1.5 ohms with the kicker so about 900w @ 1.5 ohms.
Theres inputs for 0 awg wires but even at 1200 watts is that really needed?
Basically what i need to know is if i upgrade to 2 awg will that be enough?
And if i decide to drop to 1 ohm will 2 awg still provide enough current.
TIA,Mike

As far as the charging system goes i do plan to upgade that as well but i can only go one step at a time.(oh to be a blue collar working stiff, lol
My stock alt is 105 amps so its not TOO bad .
So straight to 1/0 i guess, No point in wasting money on 2 awg?
Wondering weres a good place to get it round here at a decent price?
Any help?
