gain setting and others (already searched)

I've searched before and I know how to set all the gains, either by listining to a tone and hearing when the pitch changes, and the dmm way using voltages. My question is this: when u set the gain, you have turn down any bass bosst, loud and flatten the equilizer. Do i now have to listen to my music with everything flat to have the correct gain setting? If i then readjust the equalizer and loud settings to my taste, will my previous gain setting be voided, will I have to reset it? what if i change the bass boost on the amp, will this cancel out my previous gain setting? thanks for the replies.

basically, do you set your equalizer settings and loud settings before you set the gain, or after?

You set the gain before AND after. When you've got everything installed and you're happy that everything is working fine you do an initial gain setting. Then fine tune any crossover's, tone, loud, EQ, whatever processing, and then re-adjust the gain if needed (likely). Then repeat all over again to fine tune until that one happy day (if it ever comes) that you are in complete bliss with what you are hearing.
