she died on me again. she did it once yesterday, before i had ot go to work.

and now when im at a friend's house she quite's on me.

i need a new battery.

incase some of you don't know i have a system in my car, so it take's more power then it should.

i have heard sometihng of yellow tops and red top battery's.

and i'm gussing they cost big $?

if so how much would i be lookin to spend on one of these thing's and will it be good for every day use. even in the winter.

would they be of pratical use in my case.

im just getting really tired of going out to my car and it won't start.

if this helps any i have 1 200watt amp and no origianl speaker's in the car and a deck.

i just need to get this damn thing to quite doing this to me.

one more thing, you don't think that it's mabey because i don't have enough battery power? should i mabey just buy a second battery to help with the extra demand.

i know it has been talked about in the past, but i need to know if the yellows or the red will help me or i just need to get a second battery

Maybe you need an alternator that can keep up with the power that is required. You may also have other issues such as weak or dity connections.

As for yellow and red tops........ that is the colour scheme used by a battery manufacturer named Optima. Deep cycle battery is the yellow top, while the starting battery is the red top.

BTW, unlike others on this board, I would never call you "Ch__k" .................... besides, I never watched that movie.

yeah my battery died on me all the time in my old car, a cap helps and I also spent over 200 bucks on a battery designed for cars with a system. Either a better battery or a 2nd would help for sure.

It's not your stereo killing your battery with your system even a eliminator from Canadian tire would fix you right up.Get some one to test your battery and make sure there is not something stuck on that's killing it(maybe a glove box light or trunk light)You can spend more but if your not going to add alot more to your system why bother

Don't head out and buy things you don't need. A good size Eliminator battery is all that you are going to need. A second battery does not create more power, it is a added drain on the ability of the alternator to keep things charged properly.

Go get someone with a multimeter to TEST YOUR BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM.

You can buy new battery upon new battery but if your alternator is too crap or too shot or whatever, it wont charge any amount of new batteries you buy.

A new alternator with about 150-200amps of output will cost you less in the long run than replacing your battery, because if the alt is dead you'll need ANOTHER battery in the near future anyhow.

I believe Parts Source will check your electrical system for free.

Give that a try and you can pick up a battery there if you need one
