Going to buy a amp and sub tonight...

If you have the time and such, I would try to learn to do the install yourself. That's what I've been doing. And you learn a lot along the way. It's now become an addiction. I started with a small 10" Pioneer and moved up to 2x12's.. Replacing speakers..etc. I love ripping my car apart to find out the best way to run my wires etc. The challenge makes it that much more exciting.
Where abouts are you located? I'm sure there is someone on this board that would be willing to help if you wanted to go that route. Unless you just want to get it down and over with so you have instaboom.

I have ordered from the U.S. many times.
Lets not talk money for the moment, but just the selection is far greater than Canada. Ever shopped for a can of soup in a U.S. grocery store? They have 50 times the variety we do. Simple fact.
Money: You can win big time. The last item I ordered was over 1k Canadian, but on sale for $399.00 U.S.
Tax & Duty: Cant beat it UNLESS YOU ORDER A MADE IN USA PRODUCT (free trade and all that. Go look it up).
UP THE WAZOO BROKERAGE FEES: Order by USPS AIR or UPS air. No brokerage fees. Period.
WARRANTY: You have to look in to this yourself. Some places are cool, some suck donkey *****. Not EVERY company will screw you, not EVERY company will help you.
PERSONAL TIP: If you deal with a smaller company in the U.S. and develop a rapport with them, then the "rules" go out the window. They will help you. An entity like Alipine will not.
CANADIAN VENDORS: Are not stupid. If Pioneer suggests a retail of $320.00 U.S., and SONIC sells it for $250.00, then expect a Canadian price of $300.00 or so. Factor in shipping, fees, exchange, etc, and you may save a few dollars, or MORE LIKELY BREAK EVEN. The benifit is the warranty and possible personal support.
Support the vendors on this site. This is our hobby. The more Canadian vendors that die, the worse it is for us in general. I will pay a good 15 or 20 percent more to do this...BUT, like I said earlier, if it comes to a 500 dollar difference, then sorry bro, I want that money in MY pocket.
