Good Deal?

I can get a used (claimed slighty) Type-R 12" in an MTX box for $150.

Think this is a good deal?

Unhappy

It'll make some noise....since the box wasn't built for that sub in the first place and a ported enclosure should be, it could sound better....

Can you hear it before you buy??....preferably in a similar vehicle and with comparable power to what you will be using on it?? If the sub alone is worth it, you could use it as-is for now and build a better box for it later......other-wise I would pass......

A new type-r is $150-$200. Make sure to push/pull on the sub to feel for grinding.

I'm with BRG. Any sub in an enclosure that's build for another one could likely sound better. I didn't know Type R's were so cheap for being the second top of their line... still a good idea to test first or get a video of it made for you.
