Good sub match for a 500w @ 2Ω amp?

I have an alpine 500w @ 2Ω / 300w @ 4Ω monoblock amp (MRP-M500) and would like to hear some opinions on a good match for a sub or two. it's currently powering a 10" Kicker Comp @ 4Ω in a low profile ported kicker box (150w RMS / 300w Peak) and although i really like it, it's just not quite as powerful as i would like in an SUV. Have been considering upgrading to a DVC KickerVX or L7 (600w RMS/1200 Peak) but I'm leery on slightly underpowering them with my current amp.. Starting to think it might be better to wait and possibly upgrade to a 1000w amp + dual 10 or 12" VX's.. not sure if i'd want ported or sealed yet, probably sealed if 12" (I prefer responsive/punchy bass). Price Range for the sub + box i would like to be about 400 or $500.

Leaning towards a 10" L7 in their low-profile box for $400 MSRP at the moment.. Opinions?

Have you thought about a better enclosure for the Kicker first?

A 2ohm sub would have gave you almost twice the output.

I like the look of the thin-profile stock boxes, and having lots of trunk space leftover is nice :P

Yup, main reason I'm looking to upgrade.

Just a different preference in style.
