Man that sucks, when my **** was stolen I looked at it as " woohoo time for new equipment" but that deductible sucks though.. However I did put an alarm in when it was stolen but that last about 2-3 months then the car was totalled...

When was the last time any of you heard an alwrm going off and went over to investigate.
IMO alarms are ignored. Sure if it going off in your driveway maybe...but in a large parking lot? I don;t think it would have stopped the person.
There are easy ways around an alarm.

If all a thief has to do is pop the hood and pull off the neg terminal on the battery... you are right...
Ive seen lots of expensive systems with a mickey mouse alarm system get ripped....
If stuff like amps and sub boxes are screwd down and your HU is bolted in, with an alarm system that has a back up battery and extra sirens that dont shut off after 1minute... Your car may get broken into, but chances are the theif wont get much.....
also WATCH WHERE YOU PARK.... anyplace isolated from other people is a sitting duck !

Installing an alarm might be pretty easy... and if you guys say it's not too bad I'm sure I could do it.

I'm not too sure if I'm going to go through with an insurance claim though. I mean I can get pretty good deals for equipment off of the site here, so I'll have to see how much it's going to have an effect on my payments.

Not to sound like a total dick, but I don't really feel sorry for anyone that gets their gear stolen and they don't have an alarm.....................................
