Head Unit Fasteners

Installing a new Pioneer HU and I've either misplaced the screws or they didn't come with the HU. Any quick solution to this or do I have to go through Pioneer CS?

Thanks.

Which screws? The DIN mounting ones that go in the side or the tiny ones that go in the front of a double din?

Either use the factory ones, go bug an installer for some spares (I have a bucket of em) or try to find some that will work, either an M8 or #12 x 8mm.

like Dukk said, to add to this as well if your going to use an M8 or#12 x 8mm be sure to only get a 1/2" in length.

I was referring to the DIN Mount screws that hold the dash kit on.

Thanks for the replies. I tried M5 and M6 Torx, M5 was too small and M6 was too big, I ended up finding some goofy 10-24 x 1/2 Phillips screws at Lowes that fit fairly well. I sanded them down to be doubly sure they don't exceed 8mm. Accounting for the 1/8th of plastic Im at about 7mm penetration. Only sanded excess material off the end to give me an extra half mil or so.

Not ideal but it'll do the job.

Good job. I thought they were bigger at M8x8mm but I guess they're smaller. I've never had to look for them myself.

I wish I didn't, it was a frustrating endeavor. Pioneer CS was not of any help. Didn't even get a response although I suppose I should have tried calling them.

Most pros are pretty reasonable guys - if you offered to snag them a double double for a handful of screws I am sure they would ablige..
