Just a quick question,
I know that the headunit runs off 12V power right? so by that theory i should be able to run the wires straight from a 12V power source such as the battery? Or am I going to be blowing things up and crying for days? Obviously I'll be running fuses and such, but I need to be sure.

Thanks!

Well that would mean that you have to manually turn the deck off everytime you get out, or it will keep playing. That is why they have acc, and constant power.

Your right, you can do it that way, or just use the fuse box, or the existing stereos power wire. Any would work, of course straight to the batt will be your best power source.

No you are thinking of the decks red wire, this is not its power wire the yellow is. Red only turns it on or off, like a remote wire on a amp. So it would not be an issue unless it is hooked up to the batt, or full time power source aswell.

ah so unless one is always connected to power i'll loose all my settings everytime its turned off... this is going in my house, so maybe I'll hook it up to a small battery just to keep everything in order overnight and such. Other wise I'd be redoing presets everytime right?

If your using it in the house connect the yellow & red to the positive terminal of the power supply

Leave the power supply on 24/7 & shut off the deck when you are not using it.

This is how most car audio displays work.

You will not lose your presets.
