I am looking to pick up a basic 12 volt power supply for bench testing decks and amps. Mainly just needed to verify that they are working, not to run for a long period of time. I have been looking at this one: http://www.pyramidcaraudio.com/itemp...p?model=PS12KX

(10 amp constant) and this one: http://www.pyramidcaraudio.com/itemp...p?model=PS36KX

(32 amps). Would the little 10 amp one be enough to turn on and try out decks and amps? Thanks!

Oh and if anyone has one for sale that will work for me, or if anyone knows of a good source in Canada for these power supplies feel free to PM me. Thanks!

I'd send DMac a PM to see what he has to say. I'm sure he's done a lot of research...

Just hope he still checks his PMs on here.

I needed the same thing for testing equipment at a low level, so I just got one of these: motomaster 300 amp 12v battery pack/booster/inverter.

I have a 20 amp and it kicks out the tunes!
had a MTX8302 on a single Tempest. WOW
shook all the ducting in the basement.

I dont think amps realistically draw all that much.

10a continuous is alot.

If you can salvage a power supply out of an old computer it should work fine for your needs....
