Bass travels.

Even if you don't have that much power going to the subs.

Why bother wearing earplugs and listning to music? It will sound like absolute crapola. Turn it down. Much better results.

But if you insist why would you want to wear anything other than HiFi plugs?

I may be pretty stupid but at least I know enough to wear earplugs that attenuate all frequncies relativly even. Any plug designed for use in 'noise' will focus on the highs and mess up the lows and mids.

IM looking for earplugs that attenuate only the low end. its hilarious, my stereo isn't stupidly loud some peoples', but it carries through walls very very well. I need crazy low end stuff. Drysuit John, if you can send me a bunch, I'll give you whatever you want. 35db is a fair bit, that'll bring my stereo down to 100-105 or so, which is quite reasonable. I just LOVE it loud, I love the seat shaking like an earthquake, its a blast.

Wow you can really point out all of the types of listeners we have all in this conversation. The hardcore SQ group who need perfect hearing so they take every procaution they can to protect it. Then we have the daily drivers that have systems for personal enjoyment mostly but still have some back end when they want it. Then the "I want to rattle windows as I drive by" group, they know that it is bad, but ahh worry about it later. Then we have the Hardcore SPL group,(AHHHH this is the group I call home) We fully understand how destructive HIGH SPL levels can be on things we blow stuff and destroy cars with sound but most of us still dont do anything to protect our ears. Just noticed that had to point it out..... sorry

yeah, no kidding. I kind of fall into two catagories there, the "SQ" kind but also the "I want to rattle windows as I drive by" kind. SO to put them together, You have a nut like me with a fairly loud stereo, but wears ear plugs. I love music, Im a music conisuer (wow, thats bad spelling) but I love detailed rich music. So its a trade off really

You don't really have to attenuate the low end all that much to protect your hearing - it's the middle and high frequencies that damage your hearing the most. For low frequencies, you need quite a lot to really damage things...

Earplugs don't really work down that low anyways.

You want earplugs so you can turn your stereo up louder to annoy people?
