Help build my system!
Hey guys, new to the forum just picked up a new (to me) cobalt ss and i want to install some car audio since this is my commuter car and I want to have some quality audio
I currently have 2 10 inch kaption audio subs and a rockford fosgate p500.1( i think) amp. I have a budget of 500$ for the rest of the system. I want quality sound, the last car I had just had stock door speakers and I thought it sounded good with the subs, but i realize now it sounded pretty garbage lol.
I listen to all different types of music, rap, country, rock, metal, alternative.. So id like the system to sound good with all of them if possible. I'm pretty new to car audio, I installed the subs in my last car but nothing farther than that, i would have no idea how to wire a 4 channel amp.
Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks in advance!

If your factory radio has the features you need (CD/iPod, etc) then don't bother replacing it. Buy yourself a decent set (like $150-200) of coaxials for the front doors, or components if you have spots for tweeters and an amp to run them (another $150-200).
Brands are all about opinion. I would consider an Alpine MRP-F300 for just the fronts and whatever speakers sound best to you on your budget.
Keep the factory back speakers ran off the radio.
