Red face

I installed my focal 165K2s and im running them off my concept cc504a

CC504a
RMS Power: 50W x 4
Bridged RMS Power: 150W x 2

Im running it bridged so they get a bit more power, I have both my gains at 1/2 way.

Now my problem is my woofer on my passenger side seems to be getting more power/bass since it tends to kinda bottom out on some songs with louder bass, WHEREAS all around it sounds like my passenger side woofer is allways quieter/lacks the bass...but both passenger and driver tweeters are just as loud.

Anyone have any suggestions? What do you guys think it is, should I turn the gain down all around, I dont just want to turn the gain down on my passenger side or it would just sound like all the sound is comming from the driver side tweeter.

Anyone?! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

hooked up out of phase?

Or you can play test tones and put a DMM on you amps outputs and measure the AC voltage. Adjust the gains so that the voltages match.

what happens when you swap rca's, does the problem change sides? try this with the speaker leads out of the amp next, then swap the x-overs, finally the mids. During this process the problem should change sides at some point, showing you where the problem exists. Have you tried running it non bridged?

Ignore the phase issue as it would only give you either more or less bass as both speakers would be out of phase with each other. It will not tell you what is going on with just one speaker. Chances are that you have a difference in crossover points as the little hash marks on the end of the amp or only a close generalixzation of a frequency and you may have a difference in gain from the left channel of the amp to the right channel of the amp. Adjust the gain on that side and see what happens. Dave also probably nailed the last thing, which is make sure the bass boost is not turned up at all.

the bass boost is off, the gains are both the same but mabye one channel just puts out more bass or possibly more power?

I played around a bit and its better now, but when bass does come in that one speaker still tends to bottom out first. If i turn down the gain for that side more then all the noise will be comming from the drivers side which is annoying.

Also these focal 165k2s iv never heard a good component set before, are they supposed to put out a good amount of bass? Becasue they dont really, they sound awesome but I thought they were going to give me a bit more bass. They give less bass then almost stock speakers but sound like 10x better

I know speakers arnt for bass im going to still get a sub but im just cerious.

THANKS EVERYONE!

that is right, they arent made for bass since they are higher end they put out a better SQ to give better sound instead of bass to make up for sloppy subs...
