Help with Javelin Radio Speakers

I am restoring my 1974 Javelin and am trying to replace the original door speakers that came on the car and have a couple of questions:
The Javelin came from factory with 4 speaker system, one in each door and 2 mounted behind the package tray. The rear speakers are ok.
The original door speakers are 5.25 inches and mount on a metal plate that is screwed into the door behind the door panels in each door, there is very limited space.
The original door speakers are in really bad shape and cannot be rebuilt.
I have found several new speakers in the 5.25 inch size, but the salesmen keep telling me that I should not use modern type speakers with an old type radio.
I am not a radio guy, but the Audio Shops tell me the problem is compatability regarding the Omhs and Impedance?
The radio in my Javelin is a Motorola Multiplex AM Radio w/8-Track Player, it like the car is 39 years old, but it still works great.
I know I cannot find 39 year old speakers in good shape, so I would appreciate any replies with information/guidance on what I should do regarding the speakers.
Attached is a couple of photos of one of my door speakers.

What impedance are the stock speakers?

And FWIW, I have a brand new in box speaker from that era (it won't fit your car though) so nothing is impossible

Speakers

Original door speakers are 3.2 ohm but I have been told that 4 ohm will work ok.

So you should have no problem then. The trouble comes in the other way, when you try to drop in a new radio, as many old cars used a common or chassis ground for the speaker negative.
